The affairs of the Institute are managed by a 12-member Board of Governors, which comprises 9 members of the sponsoring bodies. 3 from each of the sponsors and 3 members elected by the members of PIPFA in the general body meeting every three years. The nominees of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan are usually the members on the council of respective institutes. The nominees of Auditor General of Pakistan are usually the Director General or higher level.
