Seminar on Fundamentals of Fraud Examination/Forensic Audit

The Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants (PIPFA), in collaboration with Muhammad Ali Jinnah University arranged a Seminar on “Fundamentals of Fraud Examination/Forensic Audit “on November 12, 2016 at Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi. Mr. Imran Umer Chapra, Member PIPFA Karachi Branch Committee (KBC) welcomed the honorable guests and members on behalf of KBC. Session speaker was Dr. Sana Wiqar who is currently serving at office of the Auditor General of Pakistan. Dr. Sana is a Fellow Public Finance Accountant, Affiliate Chartered Public Finance Accountant and member of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and has been consulted on a multitude of both internal and external fraud examinations for public sector projects related to healthcare, education, defense services, cosmopolitan construction and revenue generating entities, specializing in both investigative and forensic auditing procedures. The learned speaker delivered presentation and discussed the importance of Fraud Examinations and Forensic Audit. Dr. Sana focused the points: Fundamentals of Forensic Audit and Fraud Investigation, Detection of Red Flags of Fraud, Investigative Techniques for Fraud Examination, Reporting & communicating methods of Forensic Audit.
The Session Chairman was Mr. Tariq Hussain Shah, fellow member of the Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants (PIPFA), the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) and the Institute of Corporate Secretaries of Pakistan (ICSP). The Session Chairman, Mr. Tariq Husain shared very valuable experiences with audience adding knowledge towards importance of forensic audit and expressed his views on the seminar. He concluded the session and encouraged the efforts of PIPFA Karachi Branch Committee and Management of Muhammad Ali Jinnah University for arranging an awesome event. Dr. Shujaat Mubarak and Mr. Ghulam Muhammad were the Guests of Honor, Dr. Shujaat Mubarak, Associate Dean of Faculty of Business Administration appreciated the intellectual brain warming session for developing awareness, conducted by PIPFA.
The shields were distributed to distinguished Guests of Honour, Speaker and Convener Karachi Branch Committee, PIPFA in appreciation of their kind support and sharing knowledge with the PIPFA fraternity.
At the end Mr. Muhammad Amjad Qadeer ,FPFA, Member KBC presented vote of thanks to Guests of Honor, Session Speaker, PIPFA Members, guests, PIPFA Branch Committee and the organizing team of PIPFA & MAJU. He especially thanked to Mr. Ghulam Muhammad, Deputy Director, Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization at Muhammad Ali Jinnah University for his full support for arranging such a successful Seminar. He also thanked the participants for their active participation. This seminar was followed by a very interactive question and answer session which showed keen interest of the participants. The event was attended by a significant number of participants. The Seminar was followed by dinner.
The seminar was warmly welcomed and appreciated by the audience from diversified background.
